Jesse Martin
(pictured on right) is a graduate of Virginia
Tech and joined the OTF Radio team in 2012. He and wife Paula live
in Mount Crawford, Virginia where they are restoring an old
farmhouse. Jesse was an officer in FFA and is actively involved in
numerous agriculture-related organizations. He has also trained in
the medical field and has a strong interest in farm safety issues.
Jeff Ishee, Farm Broadcaster

Jeff Ishee produces and broadcasts hundreds of "Agribusiness"
segments each year for listeners of "On the Farm" Radio in Virginia,
West Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina. He also
produces an exclusive farm report daily for Christian network Joy
FM, Allegheny Mountain Radio in Virginia and West Virginia, as well
as for WSVA in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
Ishee was also the creator and inaugural host/producer of the weekly
television program "Virginia Farming," broadcast throughout
Virginia, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia. The show is
broadcast nationwide twice weekly via cable and satellite on RFD-TV
and is now available in more than 40 million homes nationwide. The
Virginia Association of Broadcasters named Virginia Farming TV as
the state's “Outstanding News Series" in 2007 and 2008. Ishee
stepped aside from TV in 2012 to accept the position of Gen. Mgr. of
the Rockingham County Fair, widely recognized as one of the top
agricultural Fairs i
n North America.
Ishee served as VP of the Virginia Farmers Direct Marketing
Association and has been actively involved in farmers’ marketing. He
has consulted with numerous organizations across the nation on
issues relating to public farmers’ markets. Ishee also served on the
Board of Directors for Virginia Agriculture in the Classroom and on
the Environmental Awards Selection Committee of the VA Poultry
Federation. He is currently a member of the Agriculture Advisory
Committee for Blue Ridge Community College in Weyers Cave, VA.
He is a columnist for the News Leader in Staunton, where he writes
about vegetable gardening. Ishee wrote and self-published his first
book in 1997entitled "Dynamic Farmers’ Marketing: A Guide to
Successfully Selling Your Farmers’ Market Products."
Ishee has received numerous awards including the Virginia Farm
Bureau Federation’s Agriculture Journalism Award for Broadcasting
(radio category) for six consecutive years as well as the television
and Internet category. In 2009, Virginia Farm Bureau announced that
future winners will be recipients of the "Ishee/Quann Award for
Media Excellence." This new award was initiated in 2010 and honors
Ishee and the late Homer Quann for their many years of service to
the industry of agriculture in Virginia.
Ishee also received an Honorary State Degree from Virginia FFA.
